POP UP THEOLOGY

March’s focus question:

A single question to help focus our discussion: From a February 2009 article by Michael Brooks in New Scientist, entitled Born Believers: How Your Brain Creates God: “It turns out that human beings have a natural inclination for religious belief, especially during hard times. Our brains effortlessly conjure up an imaginary world of spirits, gods and monsters, and the more insecure we feel, the harder it is to resist the pull of this supernatural world. It seems that our minds are finely tuned to believe in gods. Religious ideas are common to all cultures: like language and music, they seem to be part of what it is to be human.”
ENGAGE THE BIBLE
4th SUNDAYS | 5PM
How do you plan to engage Scripture regularly in 2024? Maybe read the Bible in a year, listen to the Scriptures, use a guide to walk through the Bible? Each month on the last Sunday of the month, you are invited to join in discussion. The group will offer accountability, insights and reflections, be a safe place to ask questions, and grow in your knowledge of the Scriptures.
