Being a Christian is like finding yourself on a new road. Sunday becomes Sabbath, church has become worship, communion has become covenant, and people have become community. Look over The Pathway brochure that will be in your bulletin on Sunday. Where do you see yourself stepping out in faith and growing? This road – this intentional pathway of discipleship we are undertaking here at Western Hills is for everyone to walk on. It’s a demanding road – you cannot stand still on it, you can rest for a season, but you cannot stand still. It is a “way”, it is a journey, and you will be walking alongside others.
My greatest joy in ministry has been realized as I have seen others, respond to the call of God in their lives; as parents, as leaders, as advocates for those with special needs and to ministries of all kinds. My greatest grief in ministry is when I see a lukewarm faith in an individual. When church becomes only a place to see friends and to be seen. When attendance in worship becomes an occasion when there is nothing better to do.
Our responsibility as a church and denomination – our mission – is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Join us on The Pathway to Discipleship. Don’t stand still. Stretch your soul, your mind and your faith. We will be walking with you.
In His Service,
Amy
